Polymaker, Chinese 3D printing company, in partnership with Italian electric car manufacturer XEV has announced the first car made by using 3D printing. The world's first mass-producible 3D-printed electric car is called LSEV.

The LSEV, announced at a press conference at the China Museum of 3D Printing in Shanghai, is expected to be on streets in 2019.

According to Polymaker, all visible parts of the car except the chassis, seats and glass are printed in 3D. The adoption of this strategy reduces the total number of separate parts from 2000 to 57. In addition, the full weight of the car is only 450 kg.

In addition, 3D printing accelerates the time of searching and developing. It is worth mentioning that XEV took only 3 to 12 months to design a new design while other cars need from 3 to 5 years to be developed.

The LSEV has attracted many people around the world. Since the announcement of the LSEV, the company has received 7000 orders and 2,000 orders from the car rental company ARVAL.

Enjoy watching the first 3D car!
